Prayers of Perpetual Adoration
part three
A prayer of humility before the Divine Mercy O Lord, who art infinitely merciful, I, a sinner with a hardened heart, am deeply grieved that I have hitherto forgotten the good things You have done for me and have not remembered even a little of Your great love for me. My heart is full of pride and foolishness. Ah! Lord! If I had even a little love and fear for You, I would not have done You such a great wrong.
Lord! You have promised to soften the hearts of the hard. Change my heart, which is as hard as stone, into a heart of compassion and humility.
My Lord! We know that King David, the seer, shed tears day and night because he committed a sin that was hateful to You. How many tears I have shed for countless sins. Ah! My sweet Saviour! At the hour of Your death, the earth trembled, the mountains split, and the graves opened.
Ah! Lord Jesus, the foundation of the heavenly city! Are you not the foundation that scatters all that is contrary to You? Come and scatter the heap of sins in my heart.
Ah! My Lord! I have not yet felt the contrition that is due to my sins. Alas! How terrible are my sins, and how insignificant is my contrition. I wish that I had felt the contrition that St. David, St. Mary Magdalene, St. Augustine, and all the other preachers felt. My Lord! You have made it known that sin is to be hated with all its bounds. Ah! My merciful Lord Jesus! How good it would be if I could also experience the immeasurable remorse that You have felt for the sins I have committed up to this day.
Knowing by faith that You are the Lord, the embodiment of immeasurable goodness, and the God worthy of infinite love, I desire to love You forever and to hate the sin that is against You. Oh! Merciful Lord Jesus! Your remorse is sufficient to atone for the sins of the whole world. Since my remorse is not sufficient for my sin, I offer You the very remorse that You felt for my sins. Lord! Even the holy souls who serve You with faith and perseverance mourn with remorse, remembering their sins and Your goodness. Therefore, I, too, am moved with sorrow for my sins, Your immeasurable goodness, and the great sorrows You have suffered because of my sin! O merciful Lord Jesus! Have mercy on me, bless me! I pray. Oh! Merciful Father! I, the prodigal son, have returned. Oh! Good Shepherd! Here is the lamb that was scattered from the flock. Oh, Lord Jesus, who has saved me, grant me the grace not to waste the fruit of the holy sacrifice that you have planned for me. Oh! Divine Saviour! You have pleased to pierce Your hands with iron nails in reparation for the sins I have committed with my hands. O Lord! Grant that I may no longer offend You with my hands. Oh! My good Lord Jesus! Grant that I may dwell in You and You in me forever in unity. Oh! O Heart of my Lord, drowned in the ocean of sorrow for my vain joy, O Heart afflicted for my iniquities! O Heart, terrified by my passions! O Heart, greatly ashamed of my unspeakable sins! O Heart, grieved by the hardness of my sins! O Heart wounded by the multitude of my transgressions, O Heart of my Jesus! O Heart full of blessings! O Heart so pure! O Heart so full of great mercy! Instil in my heart the same sorrow, remorse, lamentation, love and longing that You have caused in the ascetics. It is right that I, being more sinful and more treacherous than the ascetics, should repent at least like them. O Heart of my Jesus, let Your divine light shine upon me! Come quickly into my heart, which longs to embrace You. Ha! My soul! Be silent with humility before the Lord.
My heart is full of impurity! My heart is enslaved by lusts! My heart is full of treachery! My ungrateful heart! My hard heart! My heart is steeped in iniquity! My heart is full of anger and cruelty! My heart desires revenge! Ha! My treacherous heart! You are not the heart. You see streams and rivers flowing from the mountains of granite.
Did you not wash your heart with tears when you saw the Lord sweating blood for me, being tied to a stone pillar and severely beaten, and being nailed to the cross and blood flowing like water? What a difference there is between the Sacred Heart of Jesus and my heart, which is as hard as granite. How full of goodness is the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ, and how full of the poison of sin is my heart!
How courageous and alert is the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ! How fearful and indifferent is my heart! How steadfast is the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ, and how restless is my heart in virtue and how resplendent in sin. O Lord, since Your Heart is full of goodness, make my heart also full of goodness. Since Your Heart is pure, make my heart pure. Since Your Heart is a pure flame of love, make my heart a pure flame of love. Lord! With the help of Your grace, I strive to have in my heart the purity, humility, patience, submission, meekness, love, etc. of Your Heart. There is no place in my heart for anything but the love of Jesus Christ. Ah! My heart is no longer my own. It is the heart of Jesus Christ.

In the Presence of the Eucharist Prayer for all the needs of the Holy Catholic Church Eternal Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! Creator of all things visible and invisible! Source of all goodness! O God of infinite grace and generosity towards us, behold, I, a servant and the work of your hands, redeemed again by the precious blood of your only Son, stand before your throne of grace as a humble servant. I prostrate myself before you and humbly ask you: - Holy and exalt the Holy Catholic Church throughout the world. Eternal Father, who sent your only Son from your high throne to bring us from this earth to the eternal kingdom! Keep your eye on this kingdom of your Son and spread it in all hearts. Keep it in peace, unity, and purity. May those who govern it, its chief pastors, and all other superiors be holy. Grant your grace and blessing to all its members. May the heavenly fire that your Son brought to earth and desired to burn with zeal burn among them. Help and save all the preachers who came to the apostles to fulfil with diligence and success your praise and the salvation of souls redeemed by the blood of your Son. Purify the monks and nuns of all monastic orders. Bless them to serve you with all holiness, according to the nature of their dignity, and to shine as lamps for the peace of the faithful. Give all those in authority the light and grace they need to fulfil their duty to you and to the people. Bless all judges and other authorities to serve you with fear and reverence, remembering that
they are men and ministers of justice for you. Bless all your people throughout the world. Bless these, your heirs. Be merciful to this multitude, which has been yours since the beginning of the world; grant to all of us, your children, the grace to do your will in all things, as you do to those who are blessed in heaven. Remember, O Lord, that all these poor souls are created in your image and likeness and have been redeemed by the precious blood of your Son. Do not allow the devil to dishonour your name by exercising his cruelty over these creatures. Do not allow the precious blood of your only Son to be shed for them in vain. Send among them zealous preachers and missionaries, blessed with gifts and graces like those of the apostles. Look with the eye of mercy upon all souls who, though they call themselves Christians, have strayed from the true path and the one fold of the one Shepherd, Jesus Christ. Turn them to You and Your Church. Dispel their darkness with Your heavenly light. Remove from them the spirit of envy, pride, and selfishness. Give them a humble and meek heart. Father of revelation! God of all truth! Cleanse the whole world from all errors, vices, filth, and evil. Lower the banner of the devil and raise the banner of Christ throughout the world. Destroy the reign of sin and establish the kingdom of grace in all hearts. May pride be overcome by humility, hatred and jealousy by love, lust by purity, anger by gentleness, and worldly love by poverty of mind. May the gospel of the Messiah prevail throughout the world. May all rulers love one another and maintain unbroken peace. Give them a true knowledge of the terrible destruction that occurs in wars. Instil in them a proper fear of the unfortunate consequences of war, such as the loss of people’s lives, property, family, and the terrible destruction of souls. Change their hearts and teach them to fight for the Kingdom of Heaven. Lord! Turn away Your wrath that is coming upon us because of our sins. Save all the Christian people from the terrible destruction of the evil of death. Inform all sinners of their misfortune. Grant them the grace of true conversion to You and the spirit of true repentance.
Untie them from all their bonds. Protect all Christians, and especially these people, from famine, war, pestilence, earthquake, fire, flood, wildfire, and accidental death. Amen.

part five
The Divine Mercy Prayer Loving Father, we worship you because of the love you have shown us in your only Son, Jesus Christ, as our Saviour and Lord. We praise you, Jesus, who instituted the Divine Mercy so that we may have life and have it abundantly. We thank you, Holy Spirit, who dwells with us as our eternal helper, guiding and caring for us. Jesus, who instituted the Holy Eucharist and poured out his body and blood for us at the Last Supper, you want us to be transformed into people willing to wash one another’s feet and share. Grant us, as we partake of the Holy Eucharist, the grace to continue in our lives the spirit of love and sharing. Make us active and devout participants in the Holy Eucharist, not passive spectators. Bless us to live together in family and community with love as we partake of the same bread. Grant us the realisation that to live as Christians is to become a sacrifice. May we believe that the Holy Eucharist is not just one of many gifts but a precious and special gift, and that Jesus Himself is that gift. Lord God, help us to offer ourselves as a gift in the daily sacrifices offered throughout the world and to continue our sacrificial lives, filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. May we, who remember God’s infinite mercy, grow in devotion to the Eucharist and glorify you by living a holy life

To the eternally praiseworthy Holy Supreme Divine Mercy be eternal adoration and praise.
