The Way of the Cross, which was used in the Church in ancient times Opening Prayer

Pri/ Lead.: "O Christ, the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world, we desire to participate in the divine sacrifice that you offered with your blood on Mount Golgotha as atonement for the sins of men. We follow you with your divine Mother on that path where you went to Golgotha, wearing a crown of thorns on your head and carrying the cross on your shoulders. Our sins are the reason for your mental suffering and your physical suffering. Lord, we repent of our sins. We promise not to hurt you by sinning anymore. Grant us the grace to follow you and complete the sacrifice of our lives, even carrying the cross that is the suffering of daily life. Lord, bless us. Holy Mother of God, imprint on our hearts the sacred wounds of the Crucified Lord.

While the enemies of the Church labour restlessly, we are idle. Lord, forgive us our sins. Grant us the grace to patiently bear all the evils that others say and do against us in our daily lives, and to humbly offer them in expiation for our sins.

When we are overwhelmed by the weight of life's troubles and the lure of temptations and are unable to get up, mercifully extend Your hand and save us. O Mother, who, from the time of your assumption of the Motherhood of God, said, "Behold the handmaid of the Lord," and who, having suffered unspeakable pains, actively collaborated with your Son in the work of human salvation, pray for us to bear witness to your Son everywhere by enduring the mental and physical sufferings
